Established in 1885 in the community of Alabam, Arkansas
It began as a simple wood frame church building that served as a place of worship and fellowship for the people that lived in this rural area of Arkansas. Located on a hill overlooking a neighboring pasture, all who came through this community were struck by this majestic symbol of the reign of Jesus Christ. For seventy four years this one room, white church building served as refuse for all who came wanting to hear the message of Jesus Christ proclaimed. And proclaimed it was, through revivals that would last all day long and "sing'ins" that would take them into the early hours of the evening.
In 1962, the congregation of Presley Chapel built a new building in the exact spot the old white frame church had been in.
The traditions that marked that old church building were not lost though. Still today Presley Chapel serves as a beacon of hope for the residents of this rural community. The people that make up this congregation are still filled with the spirit that marked that spot on a hill as Holy. And still today, they open their church doors to all who would come and hear the Word proclaimed.
